Lyric :

🎵 Let’s sing along with the lyrics! 🎤

I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day
When it’s cold outside I’ve got the month of May

I guess you’d say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin’ ’bout my girl (my girl)

I’ve got so much honey the bees envy me
I’ve got a sweeter song than the birds in the trees

Well, I guess you’d say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin’ ’bout my girl (my girl)

Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Ooooh

I don’t need no money, fortune or fame
I’ve got all the riches, baby, one man can claim

Well, I guess you’d say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin’ ’bout my girl (my girl)

I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day
With my girl
I’ve even got the month of May
With my girl
Talkin’ ’bout
Talkin’ ’bout
Talkin’ ’bout
My girl
Ooooh
My girl
As long as I can talk about my girl…

About The Song :

“My Girl” is a soul music classic recorded by the Temptations for Motown. Written and produced by Smokey Robinson and Ronald White of the Miracles, the song, released in 1965, became the Temptations’ first U.S. number 1 single and is considered their signature song. Smokey Robinson was inspired to write the song about his wife, Claudette Rogers Robinson, also a member of the Miracles. Originally intended for the Miracles, the Temptations convinced Robinson to let them record it. The song showcased David Ruffin’s vocals and marked a turning point for the group, establishing Ruffin as the primary lead singer. “My Girl” is so closely associated with the Temptations that attempts to exclude it from their setlist drew negative reactions from audiences.
